Sunshine Coast bakery, Kenilworth Bakery, has hinted at the location of a potential fourth store north of Brisbane.
The bakery posted to its Facebook and Instagram the announcement of a new store opening in June, and for followers to “tag ya friends”.
According to The Courier Mail job ads posted confirmed the new store location as being in Samford Valley.
“Are you ready to sprinkle joy at our bakery? Sling smiles, coffee, doughnuts and fun!” the ad read.
“We are after energetic, doughnut and coffee-loving legends to join our team at our new Samford store.”
The newest location will join the established Kenilworth Bakeries at Bribie Island and Mooloolaba as well as the original location in Kenilworth, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Kenilworth Bakery has a long history of going viral online thanks to initiatives like its 1kg doughnut challenge, coffee doughnuts and 1kg sausage rolls, which have successfully transformed the bakery into a bona fide daytrip destination.
Most recently, the bakery hit national headlines after owner Jenna Saunders’ father – Jeff the Baker – took on Robert Irwin in a mock Bonds undies campaign. Jeff modelled his own Bonds underwear in a paddock while wearing an array of baked goods from Kenilworth Bakery including a chocolate doughnut snake and sausage rolls.
“Sure, @robertirwinphotography looks great wrangling reptiles in his undies – but here at Kenilworth Bakery, we’ve got Jeff the Baker serving up the real Aussie hero moment… armed with a CHOCOLATE SNAKE,” they wrote on Instagram.
“And let’s be real – it takes some serious skill to tame a sugary snake before 5am. Snakes and Donuts? That’s history in the making.”
The mock campaign was met with great enthusiasm, including from the Bonds Australia team, who commented they’d have their people call Kenilworth Bakery’s people.
The exact location and opening date of the fourth store is still to be announced.
