Sydney’s Northern Beaches has a fresh addition to its culinary scene: Frenchs Fair, an artisanal bakery and cafΓ© founded by former fine dining chef Max Bean and his wife Vicki Melitas.

Located in the heart of Frenchs Forest, this cozy yet chic spot is has gained attention for its high-quality baked goods and creative cafΓ© menu.

Max, who honed his skills in renowned restaurants like Est. and The Bridge Room, and Vicki, whose experience spans both kitchen and front-of-house roles Palings, Son Of Frank and Bar Topa, have brought their fine dining expertise into the relaxed setting of Frenchs Fair.

Here their offerings include an array of freshly baked sourdough bread, pastries, and focaccia sandwiches, as well as dishes made with seasonal produce.

The couple’s passion for exceptional ingredients is evident in every dish. They source locally whenever possible, using high-grade matcha from Japan, rich CopperTree Farms Butter, and sustainably grown stone-milled flour.

Frenchs Fair opened its doors in April 2024, but For Max and Vicki, the bakery is not just about baking; it’s about creating a space where people can enjoy great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a sense of community.
