The highly anticipated Queensland Baking Show is returning once again in 2025.
This year the event will one again be held at the TAFEQld campus in South Brisbane on May 14, from 9am to 3pm.
The 2025 competition will consist of 10 sections, including White Bread, Wholemeal Bread, Grain Bread, Gourmet Bread, Cake section, and a Pie and Pastry Section. There will also be an apprentice category that will see competitors enter four products: a 680g white loaf condensed square, 450g white three stand plait, decorated sponge, and a plain traditional beef pie.
Rounding out the competition will be the Queensland Baking Show Perpetual Trophy, Champion Loaf of the Show – Ribbon, and Champion Cake / Pastry of the Show Ribbon.
The 2024 competition saw Ashley Hughes from Coles Park Ridge take home the Champion Loaf of the Show for the wholemeal cob, while The Squealing Pig was awarded the champion cake/ pastry of the show for the second consecutive year for their lasagna pie. Luke Moy from Woolworths Tweed City was awarded the Queensland Baking Show Perpetual Trophy. He claimed a further seven awards on the day, including gourmet pull apart loaf, grain rolls, wholemeal cob and five strand plait.
Registrations for the 2025 Queensland Baking Show are now open and can be done via the Baking Association of Australia website.
