Adelaidian wins French cooking show
More than four million people tuned in to watch Adelaide expat Chelsea Wilson win the French cooking show Le Meilleur Patissier.
Living in France with her French husband since 2014, Chelsea beat France’s best home pastry cooks in the competition with her chocolate bird sculpture complete with ginger caramel chocolates and rosemary- and olive oil-infused chocolates, winning the admiration of two nations.
As part of her prize, Chelsea has released her own pastry cookbook, and judge Gregory Cohen enlisted her to run cooking classes in his world-famous Mon Éclair pastry shop.
Chelsea worked part-time as an au pair in France before the show, dedicating her free time to learning the fine French art of patisserie.
