The worldβs largest hand-rolled soft pretzel chain, Auntie Anneβs, is set to open its first Australian location at Westfield Parramatta on July 26.
Marking the brandβs official entry into the local market, the move is part of a broader expansion strategy that includes five additional stores planned across Australia over the next 12 months.
This highly anticipated launch brings a cult-favourite American snack to local shoppers, following the recent arrival of other U.S. food giants like Wingstop and Five Guys.
Founded in 1988 in a Pennsylvania farmers market, Auntie Anneβs now boasts over 2,000 locations globally. The Australian franchise is spearheaded by local entrepreneurs Yu-Jin Lee and Johann Wong, who have been working for years to bring the brand Down Under.
βThis has been a dream in the making for years,β Yu-Jin told News.com.au.
βWe have always loved pretzels and one of our fondest childhood memories is going to the mall to grab an Auntie Anneβs pretzel. Itβs a cherished experience for us and we hope to recreate and share that joy in Australia now too.β
The Parramatta store will offer the full range of signature menu items that have helped Auntie Anneβs gain a loyal global following, including classic varieties such as Original, Cinnamon Sugar, Sweet Almond, and Pepperoni Cheese. Bite-sized options and drinks will also be available, with all pretzels mixed, hand-rolled, and baked fresh onsite throughout the day.
βOur pretzels are baked continuously throughout the day, so no matter when you stop by, youβre getting them hot, fresh, and at their absolute best,β Yu-Jin said.
Buzz around the new store has already taken off on social media, with enthusiastic fans sharing sightings and expressing excitement ahead of opening day. Many have called for additional locations, particularly in Melbourne, where demand appears strong.
