The results are in for the Baking Association of Australia’s 2025 Tasmanian Baking Show.
On October 30 bakers from across Tasmania – and from further afield – gathered at The Boat House Function Centre at Invermay in Launceston to take part in the competition.
More than 300 entries were submitted, however, Bakers Delight Mowbray claimed the Champion Loaf of the Show – David Cripps Trophy for their 450g Grain Cob, while Taylors Bakehouse won the Champion Pie of the Show with their Gourmet Red Meat Pie. Champion Cake of the Show/Pastry of the Show went to Sophie Weeding from Brightons Best Bakehouse for her Fruit Flan.
The competition was also the site for Australia’s Best Fruit Mince Pie competition, which was taken out by Gumnut Patisserie.
There are a few more events before 2025 wraps, with the focus moving to the Excellence in Baking state rounds. Next up is the Tasmanian, South Australian and NSW state rounds, which will be held in November.
