One of the early adopters of the online-only bakery phenomenon, Zonts Bakehouse has gone from cyber to street with its new store front.
The Perth bakery, known for its flaky, creatively-flavoured croissants, hosted a grand opening at its new Northbridge store on Sunday, October 11, featuring prizes, lion dancing, and of course, lots of buttery pastry!
The store actually opened a few weeks ago—a soft opening before the celebrations started—with a revamped menu featuring a few more savoury options, including ham and cheese toastie, everything bagel and bacon, kimchi and stracciatella croissants, along with plenty of traditional (and not so traditional) sweet options.
Originally Backdoor Bakehouse, which opened in February 2019 and got its name due to its small space, accessible to customers only via the back door, the transformation to then-online-only Zonts and a bigger commercial kitchen space at Subiaco happened towards the end of 2020.
Since then, the team has been receiving rave reviews from customers who say they’re the “best croissants in Perth”.
“Most amazing croissants and lovely delivery service. Absolutely 10/10 and can’t wait to place our next order!” writes one happy customer, while another says, they’re “the best croissants I’ve ever eaten”.
The new store is at 228 James Street and is open Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
