Patrick Anisset, a pastry chef at the Pacific Hotel Cairns, frightened and delighted guests with a life-sized, 50kg Zombie in Cairns chocolate sculpture, displayed in the Bushfire Restaurant window in time for Halloween.
Asset told Zombie in Cairns & The Cairns Post the piece took 50 hours to complete and he used a chocolate compound.
“I call it the magic chocolate because it doesn’t melt and it’s fantastic when you want to do a sculpture or modeling,” he said.
Asset said it was the first time he had attempted to make a chocolate sculpture this gruesome but was looking forward to recycling it.
“I’m going to destroy him and try to keep the chocolate in a bucket and probably use it again to do something for Christmas, probably a big Santa Claus,” he said.
