The Victorian Government has launched Vic’s Picks – a new celebration of the food, culture and community within the state.
Starting September 22 and tunning for four weeks, the initiative will see Victorians be able to cast their votes for their favourite pie, banh mi, and potato cake. The top entry in each category will be crowned as Victoria’s pick.
Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan said Vic’s Picks is about celebrating the people, businesses and traditions that make the state proud.
“Whether it’s your local bakery, a family-run banh mi store or the neighbourhood fish and chip shop – this is about backing the small businesses that make our communities stronger,” she said.”
Victoria is a notoriously foodie state, and Vic’s Picks is being touted as a way to shine a spotlight on the small businesses that bring communities together, create local jobs and make the suburbs, towns and regions proud.
Voting for Vic’s Picks is set to close on October 19.
