UK wheat prices rising
Increased demand and a slump in availability are expected to bring further hikes in the cost of wheat in the UK, according to British Baker.
Supplies are reportedly down by 141kt from December’s forecast and consumption is forecast to be 202kt higher than predicted.
Use by millers, including the bioethanol and starch industry, was more than previously forecast, as was wheat demand for animal feed.
