The Shared Table claims 2026 Ballarat’s Best Pie title

The Shared Table's Sher Wagyu Reuben Pie won the 2026 Ballarat's Best Pie title

Pie-lovers rejoice – the 2026 Ballarat’s Best Pie winner has been revealed.

The Shared Table’s Sher Wagyu Reuben Pie was announced as the city’s best pie, beating out almost 30 other entries across sweet and savoury categories.

Announced on August 1, 2026 at Itinerant Spirits, judges Tim Bone, Kara Monssen, Alejandro Saravia, Richard Cornish and Ballarat mayor Tracey Hargreaves named the sandwich-inspired creation as the top pie. The other winners included Cookie Cult’s Struck Gold & It’s Sticky pie, which won Best Sweet Pie, while Sovereign Hill’s slow-cooked blade steak pepper pie was awarded Best Bakery Pie. The Brilliantly Unexpected Pie title went to Flying Chillies’ pandan flower pie.

Now it’s over to the public, with consumers able to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Pie with the winner set to be announced in early September.

While celebrating the won The Shared Table shared on Facebook, “We would like to congratulate all the entrants, and the winners… and wish you all good luck for the month ahead.”

“We’ll see you at the restaurant for pie and all the good things that go so well with it.”

In 2025 more than 20,000 pies were sold across the Victorian city as part of the competition.
