The Official Great Aussie Pie competition: the winners are in!

Paradise Bakery has claimed the top prize at the 2025 The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition

Paradise Bakery from Bundaberg, Queensland, have taken home the title of The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition.

Announced on September 11 after four grueling days of judging, the regional bakery claimed top spot with their Plain Mince Pie.

The Piefather from Rosebery in NSW was named as runner-up in the Plain Pie Category, and Mt Barket Country Bakehouse from Western Australia took out the Gourmet Pie category for their Beef Bourguignon pie.

Adelaide’s Banana Boogie Bakery continued their winning streak by taking home the gong for their Plain Sausage Roll, while Samuel Gee’s Pie & Pastries in Balaclava, NSW, won the Gourmet Sausage Roll title . Miami Bakehouse from Greenfields in Western Australia rounded out the major category winners after they claimed the Meat Pastie ribbon.

The newest addition to the 2025 competition lineup – the Official Grand Champion Prize, which would be awarded to the bakery that won both the Overall Plain Pie and Sausage Roll categories – was left unclaimed.

The 36th Official Great Aussie Pie Competition was held as part of Fine Foods Australia at ICC Sydney.

  • Runner up Plain Pie: The Pie Father, Rosebery NSW – Mince
  • Winner of the Plain Sausage Roll: Banana Boogie, Belair SA – Beef
  • Winner of the Gourmet Pie: Mt Barket County Bakehouse, WA – Beef Bourguignon
  • Winner of the Gourmet Sausage Roll: Samuel Gee’s Pies & Pastries, Balaclava NSW – BBQ Meat Lovers
  • Winner of the Meat Pastie: Miami Bakehouse, Greenfields WA
  • Tom Lindsay Pepper Steak Award: M&D Butchery Port Cygnet, Tasmania – Chunky Pepper
  • The John Ross Innovative Pie: Jack’s Cafe & Bakery, Halls Head WA – Beef Wellington
  • Manufacturing Plain Sausage Roll: Caspers Pies & Pastries, Bayswater VIC
  • Manufacturing Gourmet Pie: Baked Provisions, Prestons NSW – Chicken & Veggie Pie
  • Manufacturing Plain Pie: Baked Provisions, Prestons NSW – Chunky
  • Apprentice Vegetarian Pie: Paradise Bakehouse, Bundaberg QLD – Veggie Lover = Thi Phuong Khanh
  • Gourmet Brekkie Pie: Mountain High Pies, Wentworth Falls – Big Brekkie Pie
  • Gourmet Game Pie: Hungie Fangs Artisan Bakery, Cobram VIC
