The first round of information about the 36th Official Great Aussie Pie Competition has been announced.

The competition is set to be held at Fine Food Australia in Sydney, which will take place from September 8-11. Registrations for the competition will be open July 15, 2025 to August 25, 2025.

The 2024 competition saw Buddy Bakery from Melton in Victoria take home the coveted Plain Meat Pie title for their chunky pie, with Four Seasons Patisserie & Bakery from High Wycombe in WA coming in second.

WA’s Jack’s Bakery took home the Gourmet Pie prize for their lamb and red wine creation. Orange Spot Bakery from SA claimed the top prizes in both the Plain Sausage Roll and Pastie categories, while Orange Pie Company took out the Gourmet Sausage Roll title for their maple bacon and hazelnut sausage roll.

The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition was established in 1989 by John Ross and Craig Perry, with the aim of raising the quality standards of pies throughout the country. In 2011 the Aussie Pie Council (APC) purchased the rights to the competition, and in 2013 the Official Great Aussie Sausage Roll competition was established.
