A new ‘fancy’ Coles store in Brisbane comes complete with a locally well-known artisan bakery, Mochi ice cream station, self-serve barista coffee and loads more.
It’s a whole new supermarket experience for Ascot locals who can now find specialty cakes and pastries from Jocelyn’s Provisions, fresh bread and buns from King Street Bakery, high-end meats from Meat at Billy’s and even a special range of dog treats at a DIY treats station at the Racecourse Road store.
The Coles Local supermarket concept has been popular in Melbourne and Sydney, and the Brisbane first includes a mural of local landmarks like the Eagle Farm Racecourse painted on the store’s exterior by local artist Sophie Beer.
The store’s fit out and operation aims to be eco-friendly, with energy-efficient fridges, recycled customer carry boxes available, a dedicated eco-friendly product range, and baskets and staff uniforms made from recycled materials.
While shopping, customers can sip barista-quality brews from Melbourne’s DC Specialty Coffee Roasters from the self-serve coffee bar and nibble on a macaron from the mini-macaron bar.
The King Street Bakery, located on King Street, Bowen Hills, is home to a large range of artisan breads viennoiserie, tarts, and cakes made from scratch daily by its team of skilled, internationally trained bakers and pastry chefs.
