Merna Taouk started her line of cult-crumpets out of nostalgia for the breakfast staple of her childhood, and they took off. Merna’s crumpets are now served in cafés, hotels and restaurants across Australia – even on Qantas Business and First Class flights.
With a philosophy for using only the best quality local ingredients, to get the best possible taste, Merna works closely with Australian farmers and producers to achieve this.
If reviews on the Crumpets by Merna Facebook page are anything to go by, these crumpets are a perfect isolation and COVID-19 recovery snack, too!
“I have been in isolation for 24 days battling COVID 19 and I saw the Facebook post for crumpets and thought I could possibly eat them so order some,” one reviewer wrote.
“Well I am feeling better and had a crumpets this morning oh my it was delicious. Part of the virus is losing your sense of taste, so that first bite and realising I could taste it was unbelievable. Delicious.”
