Aussie chocoholics will have an excuse to add their favourite treat to their breakfast toast as Lindt prepares to launch its sell-out spreads Down Under.
If you’re sceptical about how good it could actually be, it’s worth noting that it had a viral response when it was launched in the UK last year, selling out across major British supermarkets almost instantly.
The hazelnut spread will launch first in Coles on March 1 and other retailers from May, and the cocoa spread will be released in supermarkets in May.
While it’s rather expensive at $10 a jar, our friends across the pond assure us it’s completely worth it.
In a comment to 7news, Lindt Master Chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler, expressed the anticipation of these spreads.
“We’re so excited to bring our new Lindt spreads to Australia. Now everyone can enjoy our delicious chocolate in a spreadable form as a perfect treat.”
“Our Lindt Hazelnut Spread is made with 25% roasted hazelnuts which is more generous than many other spreads. This generosity adds to the incredible flavour when the hazelnuts are combined with the cocoa creating the perfect blend.”
Although Lindt Chocolate Cafes have had the spreads for a few years, this will be the first time it has been available in Australian stores.
