The Newcastle Baking Show kicked off the year for the Baking Industry Association of New South Wales’ (BIA NSW) regional shows in March.

Bakers Delight Bowral took out the “time-honoured” Bill Lewis Memorial Trophy for 2011, as well as the Arthur Dennison Champion Loaf of the Show.

“As seen before, the industry support was great. With over 120 exhibitors this is always seen as a very good show,” BIA NSW’s Tony Smith said.

The Bob Connell Champion Cake and Pastry was won by Janet Aislabie. BB Bakery’s Adam Sheehan won the Champion White Loaf, Hamilton TAFE’s Nicholas Shelley won Champion Wholemeal Loaf and Bakers Delight Richmond Mall won Champion Grain Loaf.

Gumnut Patisserie won Most Successful Cake Exhibitor.
