The Tasmanian Baking Show is returning in full force once again in 2024.
The show is set to be held on October 16, at The Boat House Function Centre in Invernay, from 8am to 4pm.
A full line-up of competing products will be on display on the day, from white bread and grain bread to gourmet bread, pies and pastry, cakes, wholemeal bread and the fruit section. There will also be the Champion Awards: Champion Loaf of the Show – David Cripps Trophy and Ribbon, Champion Pie of the Show Ribbon, and Champion Cake/Pastry of the Show Ribbon.
There will also be an apprentice section, which will see the competitors make a 680g white hi-top, two Swiss roll filled jam, four decorated cupcakes, and a 450g three-strand plait.
Competitors for the Ian Freeburgh Memorial Trophy will be putting forward a 680g white square (4 piece), 680g wholemeal hi-top (1 piece), and 680g fruit loaf upright (1 piece).
The 2023 competition saw 52 bakeries enter with more than 300 pieces of product.
Baking Association of Australia executive officer Tony Smith said,” The [2023] Tasmanian Baking Show has seen another successful year with an increase in exhibitors and entries.”
