The 2016 Cake, Bake and Sweet Show, held on October 23-25 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, drew a very enthusiastic crowd of nearly 20,000 home bakers, cake decorators, Industry wows home bakers professionals and of course, food lovers.
One of the main drawcards was chocolate artist Paul Joachim, who constructed a life-sized chocolate sculpture of Michelle Payne, the 2015 Melbourne Cup winning jockey, throughout the course of the show.
There was a range of hands-on features at the show that were extremely popular, including the Coles Bake & Decorate Stage, the Nestle Make your Own Cake Feature and the Dr. Oetker/Queen Hands-On Cake Decorating feature. People from all ages loved getting involved and making their very own creations, guided by some of the Industry wows home bakers best.
Popular personalities at the show, such as Elena Duggan (winner MasterChef 2016), Harry Foster (Finalist MasterChef 2016), Kate Ferguson (Zumbo’s Just Desserts), Kirsten Tibballs and Jessica Pedemont, were very well-received by audiences.
The show also featured for the first time Danielle Gotheridge, an internationally renowned cake artist from the UK, who decorated a spring racing cake in her signature style throughout the show.
