Anna Polyviou has outdone herself again this year with her Christmas sweets are gingerbread house, created with her team and 20 members of the Australian Cake Decorating Network.

Unveiled on December 3 to the sounds of a funky gospel choir and hip hop rappers, the house is made from more than two tonnes of gingerbread bricks, 500kg of lollies, 100kg of fondant, 200 lollipops and oodles of icing.

Anna Polyviou said this year they took the epic gingerbread wonderland to a whole new level, as she wanted to create something Sydney has never seen before at Christmas.

“I love that people think we’re crazy with creations like this, and I love that adults often get more excited than the kids once they see it,” she said.

The Sweets are gingerbread house and garden will be open at The Lobby Lounge at Shangri-La Hotel Sydney from 7 am until December 26.
