Iconic chocolate brand Haigh’s Chocolate has announced it will be making its retail debut in Brisbane in 2026, with three new stores set to open in the city.

Haigh’s Chocolates Chief Executive, Peter Millard said the expansion comes as demand for its premium chocolate increases across the eastern seaboard, creating new employment and growth opportunities in line with the businesses 10-year strategy.

“We’re excited to announce our entry into Brisbane with the opening of not one, but three new Haigh’s stores this year,” he said.

“With Queensland customers representing 18 per cent of our online sales and increased capacity following the opening of our online sales and increased capacity following the opening of our new production, warehouse and online fulfillment facility in South Australia, the time was right to open in market.”

In line with the expansion plans, Haigh’s is set to increase its chocolate production capacity from 1100 tonnes to 2000 tonnes per year and plans to employ 75 people as part of its Brisbane store openings in the first three months with recruitment set to commence in April.

Former CEO and fourth generation family member Alister Haigh said the Brisbane expansion is an exciting milestone for the family-owned business, which continues to diversify its retail and online footprint in Australia.

“We’re thrilled to deliver our premium chocolates and signature Haigh’s experience direct to the hands of customers in Brisbane,” he said.

“It’s been a long time coming, undoubtably there will be many Brisbane chocolate lovers delighted to hear this news.”

The move into Brisbane will see Haigh’s Chocolate’s retail footprint expand to 26 stores, with existing stores across Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide.
