Queensland’s Gold Coast will soon be home to a new European-style bakery, FARINA & Co, with the doors due to be opened in late June.
The bakery is the brainchild of The Amore Collection, which is responsible for Broadbeach institutions Sofia’s Restaurant & Bar and Luna’s Pizza & Wine.
Named after the Italian word for ‘flour’, the venue has been designed by Bridgette Ford from ArchInteriors.
The venue’s design details have been kept secret ahead of its opening, but Ms Ford did share that all the prep benches are solid marble for easy/nonstick pastry and dough rolling.
The Amore Collection executive chef Dan Paulman has also reportedly created a menu that will focus on breakfast and lunch, with pastries, fresh bread, classic Italian-style paninis, salads, focaccias and pasta all set to feature heavily.
According to The Weekend Edition, Henry Hunt said with their background in restaurants and high-end dining, the daytime concept will provide an exciting challenge.
“Part of it was wanting to do something new and have a new challenge for myself and the team, but I think it really fits in with where we want to grow the business,” Mr Hunt told The Weekend Edition.
“FARINA & Co will not only make the pasta for Sofia’s and the pizza dough for Luna’s, but there are plans to introduce a retail line where you can pick up some fresh pasta and sauce to take away.
“It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while now, but just didn’t have the space.”
