World’s Best Croissant Inspired By

Melbourne’s Lune Croissanterie has been named home of the World’s Best Croissant. Inspired by the delicate pastry of France, the Lune team reconstructed it to create a pastry worth lining up for.

And it seems you will have to line up for one, with a queue going around the block for a piece of pastry heaven. Last year, Lune sold out of the limited-edition pistachio and dark chocolate croissant – a collaboration with specialty chocolatier Koko Black – in just 30 minutes.

The coveted croissant returned for three days only in July, although plenty of punters still missed out.

The inspired creation is a Lune croissant filled with Koko Black’s pistachio marzipan World’s Best Croissant, a toasted cacao nib frangipane and dark chocolate ganache, topped with crushed pistachios, shards of tempered dark chocolate and cocoa powder.

If you did miss this limited-edition creation, rest assured there are plenty more delicious sweet and savoury croissants to line up for.

Very tasty but quite possibly the most expensive croissants I have ever bought. Probably wouldn’t purchase them again for that reason .
