Australian Baking Business has pledged its support for the Australian Pastry team’s documentary The Pastry Battlers by offering free 12-month subscriptions for donations of $75 or more.

The film follows the journey of Australia’s talented pastry chefs as they prepare for and compete in the 2013 World Pastry Cup in Lyon, France. While all filming has been completed, the team is calling on the baking community to help raise much-needed funds to ensure the documentary is edited, produced and aired.

Filmmaker Sandra Beeston said it’s “high time for Australian pastry to shine”.

“after having seen many television shows dedicated to chefs de cuisine we thought it is imperative the country hear about its world-class pastry chefs,” she said.

“Pastry-making is still not a very well-known discipline, even though it requires a very high level of skill and involves so much more than cakes and desserts.

“Come on board and help us continue this journey to bring a bit of pastry love to the Australian audience!”
