Juniores Pastry World Cup claimed by France

France has beaten out 11 international teams and successfully claimed the 2024 Juniores Pastry World  Cup title.

The competition is the world’s only event aimed at under-23 competitors, and was held at SIGEP 2024 earlier this month.

The winning team consisted of two young pastry chefs and a team manager, Pierre-Henri Roullard, Alistair Smith and Julien Maheux. Second place went to Chinese Taipei, with the trio Kuo Yi Lee, Che Wei Lee and Shang Cheng Wang; while Hong Kong, with Yiu Man Roger Fok, Lok Yin Lee and Ho Man Yiu, came in third.

Boasting the theme myths and legends, the 2024 Juniores Pastry World Cup competition saw each team make an array of items including a vegan sorbet in a glass, plated dessert, street food dessert, modern chocolate cake, sugar sculpture, and chocolate sculpture.

The entries were judged by an international jury consisting of the team managers of the 11 teams with Maestro Iginio Massari as president of honor and Maestro Eugenio Morrone as president of the jury.

The Australian team – Damian Wright and Bianca Piromalli – unfortunately missed out on a place on the podium.
