A powerful and influential collective for female food and beverage artisans, innovators, business leaders, and entrepreneurs has recently launched, called Females in Food.
Females in Food is a member-based organization dedicated to empowering women in the food and beverage industry by ensuring they have the resources they need to excel and grow personally and in their businesses. It’s a place where women can find new ways to connect, learn, be inspired and support each other.
Females in Food founder Chelsea Ford says she has worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 25 years and has seen first-hand how difficult it is for women to excel.
“It’s not only that it’s a heavily male-dominated industry, it also takes really hard work to be a successful entrepreneur, and that can sometimes be a very lonely existence,” she said.
Chelsea said over time her vision had become very clear – she wants the Females in Food collective to help build the profile of, and in turn shape a better future for, women in the industry.
“Since our pre-launch via social media in July 2016, Females in Food has attracted interest from women across a range of occupations within the food and beverage industry and from around the world,” she said.
Females in Food’s annual membership is $197. Visit the website www.femalesinfood.com.au for more information.
