Chocolate medicine to assist sick kids

Researchers at the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Centre of Optimisation of Medicine have joined forces to develop a chocolate-based drug or chocolate medicine that takes away the taste of unpleasant tasting drugs, ABC News reports.

Paediatric aesthetician Britta Regli-von-Ungern-Sternberg told ABC many medicines used as precursors to anaesthetics were supposed to calm sick children, but tasted so foul they often had the opposite effect.

The chocolate drug has not yet been approved, and the university is actively looking for sponsors.
