Baking for Christchurch
Attica’s Ben Shewry recently enlisted some of his high-profile chef mates to fundraise for victims of the Christchurch terror attacks.
According to Broadsheet, Baking for Christchurch —a bake sale raising funds for the victims’ families and people affected by the attacks—provided epicurious Melbournians with the chance to try Attica’s famed Vegemite scroll, cheesecakes from Andrew McConnell, strawberry mascarpone from Neil Perry, and a chicken breakfast sandwich from Morgan McGlone, as well as contributions from Lune Croissanterie, Huxtaburger and Baker Bleu, to name a few.
To kick off the funding drive, Shewry sold $20 hugs (yes, hugs!) at Melbourne Food & and Wine Festival’s River Graze event.
All of the proceeds will go towards the Victim Support New Zealand Give a Little fund, which has raised $8 million to support people affected by the Christchurch terror attacks.
