Baker’s Dozen hits Melbourne: bake your day

For two days, the Baker’s Dozen will be the place to be for pastry (and baked goods) lovers.

Described as “a lightning rod for the huge baking and pastry energy coursing through the town”, Baker’s Dozen will bring together some of the industry’s finest in an open-air market.

Names to look out for include Baker Bleu, Black Star, Bread Club, Falco, The Flour, Holy Sugar, Mali Bakes, and Mietta by Rosemary. There will also be the folk from Tarts Anon, Monforte Viennoisserie and To Be Frank.

“We’ve got cakes, we’ve got crullers, we’ve got cheesecakes, we’ve got canelés, we’ve got tarts (anonymous and otherwise), we’ve got salted dark chocolate financiers, we’ve got a Bread Club x Manzé pie collab, we’ve got a wattleseed teacake and a gianduja babka, we’ve got hot, hot, hot cross buns galore, and we’ve got a whole lot more, sweet and savoury, on top,” an event spokesperson said.

“Baker’s Dozen is going to bake your day.”

The two-day festival will take over Melbourne’s Federation Square on March 23 and 24, 2024. It forms part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
