Australian-first cake ATM launches in Brisbane

A quirky dessert business is taking convenience to the next level with the launch of an Australian-first cake ATM in the inner-city Brisbane suburb of Fortitude Valley.

The Mason Baker, previously known for its Emergency Dessert Jars, officially launches the Cupcake ATM on Friday, February 5 at the new Kickons Bar on Warner St in Fortitude Valley to provide patrons with an emergency sweet tooth fix.

The Mason Baker’s James Willis told The Courier Mail that they worked closely with Worldwide Vending to create the innovative new way of dispensing desserts.

The machine will sell a variety of cakes in flavours such as Salted Caramel, Chocolate Ganache and Strawberries and Cream, which are served in a jar as per the company’s style so they stay fresher for longer.

James Willis and The Mason Baker are no strangers to attracting attention via innovative dessert dispensing methods. In October last year, Willis created an edible art activation across Brisbane where locals had the opportunity to score some free cake in Emergency Cake Boxes across the city. They looked like typical fire extinguishers, but behind the glass lucky citizens were able to find Willis’s signature mason-jar cakes in flavours such as salted caramel, chocolate ganache, and strawberries and cream.
