The final round of the 2024 Australian Baking Industry National Scholarship Awards’ (ABINSA) regional scholarship winners have been revealed.
Four of the baking industry’s rising stars have been named on the 2024 Arthur E Denison Trophy list:
- Glen Stoddart from Kimbercrust, WA
- Vikramaditya Sreeman from Baker of Things, Vic
- David Damour from CIT TAFE, ACT
- Martin Schett from BITA, Qld
2023 Arthur E Denison Trophy winner Ganesh Iyer said the win was a significant milestone in his baking journey.
“[The win] represents not only personal achievement but also the recognition of my dedication to the craft. It was a moment of validation for the hard work and passion invested in my work as a pastry chef,” he said.
Each of the regional winners will travel to Melbourne on October 20 for the five-day, four-night scholarship adventure. The national champion for both the Arthur E Denison Trophy and Sydney J Packham Baking Industry Medal will be announced at the Australian Society of Baking’s Chairman’s Dinner on October 23.
As part of the award, the two national winners will be attending a course at the San Francisco Baking Institute in 2025.
