You don’t have to, but you’ll probably want to get out of you pyjamas or trackie-dacks for an exclusive high tea experience that is available for takeaway or delivery in Melbourne.

A bespoke high tea menu originally designed for a dine-in experience at the Melbourne Park Hyatt hotel has now been put on hold due to the indefinite ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in Victoria, and now it’s up for grabs for those within postcodes 3011—3152.

Patissier Chef Santiago Cuyugan of Mamé Cocoa and resident pastry chef of Park Hyatt Melbourne created the stunning menu and was left with all the ingredients, already purchased, following the event’s cancellation. He issued a plea via his social channels to get the word out so the ingredients wouldn’t go to waste.

“You might have seen my recent posts on @Mamecocoa_melbourne about my high tea for takeaway/delivery. It all sounds so professional over on that side of Instagram, but the truth here is that I need your help…,” Santiago wrote.

“The lockdown has not been kind to so many businesses that I know of, and so many others that I may not know. The offering that I created for @parkhyattmelbourne winter high tea has left me with excess ingredients that I need to make the most of.

“That’s why I’ve decided to make some adjustments, and bring these treats directly to you and your loved ones. If you are looking for a treat to brighten up your lockdown, or even that of a friend or colleague, hop on it and get a High Tea set for this Sunday September 12th.

“I don’t really do this, but here’s a little “call to action:” Any help sharing this post would be extremely appreciated. Get it on your Insta-stories, share it as a direct message, post it on your Facebook page.
