Melbourne-based bakery Well & Good has announced two of their products will soon be appearing on Woolworths shelves across the country.
The bakery, known for is gluten-free product range, will be stocking their soft white rolls and rustic ciabatta rolls in the supermarket from mid-June, both of which will be free from gluten, soy, dairy, nuts and eggs.
Well & Good founder and product developer Sam Barak said, “We made these rolls soft and delicious, without preservatives, and perfect for sharing—whether you have allergies or not.”
Both the soft white rolls and ciabatta have been designed to resemble traditional bread in taste and texture, as opposed to the cake-like alternatives that are commonly found in the free-from category.
Well & Good was established in 2005 by Sam, who worked out of the family garage to create the products.
By 2016 it had grown into an industrial bakery that manufactured a product range that meets the strict “free from” standards. In Australia this requires the product to not contain any detectable gluten, oats, malt or ingredients derived from oats or malt.
It is estimated that one in 70 Australian adults have coeliac disease, which can only be treated with a strictly gluten-free diet.
