The Asia-Pacific region is projected to lead the world in bakery product launches and sales. Led by greater China, the market is expected to expand by around 6 per cent annually, making Hong Kong a logical and convenient location for Australian bakery professionals to network and to explore new opportunities.
The Hong Kong International Bakery Expo (IBE) will showcase a wide range of bakery, pastry and confectionery products, including chocolate, ice cream, biscuits and coffee, as well as equipment, packaging, merchandising, display and storage supplies.
IBE aims to showcase upcoming trends and to provide an educational and networking platform for the bakery industry. International suppliers, master chefs and cake artists will demonstrate live, while key speakers from Asian bakery associations will be invited to discuss the latest in bakery products, services and technologies.

According to market research company Mintel Group, China in particular is experiencing a fast growth economy, with more urban consumers preferring flavoursome, healthy and convenient foods in their daily diets. Within this space, Western-style bakery products have become popular breakfast foods and snacks, resulting in rapid growth in the local bakery-patisserie market.
