Third time’s the charm for Penny for Pound

Third time’s the charm for Penny for Pound

Openings
The interior of a bakery/cafe; there are big glass cases full of sweet and savoury pastries. Behind is a shelf stacked with bread and a coffee machine. On the right, behind the counter, there is a man. (Penny for Pound)

Penny for Pound, beloved Melbourne-based croissanterie, threw open the doors to its third store earlier this month. Continuing to offer delicious fresh croissants, this new Camberwell location has proven to be popular since its launch on September 2.

Specialising in croissants, Penny for Pound is a wildly popular Melbourne-based bakery that’s recently opened its third store.

2022 has been a big year for married couple Matilda Smith and Ben Wilson, the owners of the cult bakery. Expanding from their beloved first location in Richmond, Penny for Pound opened its second store in Moorabbin in May this year.

Since opening in 2018, Penny for Pound has gone from strength to strength. With the launch of its third store earlier this month, it’s clear that a boutique croissanterie was an excellent idea.

The Camberwell location stocks all of their mouth-watering favourites from the Richmond and Moorabbin locations, which proves that customers love what they know.

Among its offerings of both savoury and sweet pastries, a big customer favourite is the ‘bake at home croissant’ box that Penny for Pound sells to its customers. All set to go, these uncooked parcels of deliciousness only need defrosting and proving before they’re ready to pop in the oven.
