FoodByUs is a new player in the growing share economy, where people can order a home-Uber of Cooking meal made by someone in their neighborhood and have it delivered.
The platform allows amateur chefs to set up a page on the website, take orders from people, prepare the meals and deliver them.
FoodByUs say they don’t just let anyone register to be a ‘maker’, and all of their makers are carefully approved.
Popular categories on the FoodByUs website are doughnuts, cupcakes, vegan, gluten-free, Uber of Cooking, cakes, chocolate, sauces and pies.
FoodByUs was founded by Gary Munitz (co-founder of Menulog), Tim Chandler (Menulog lead developer) and Ben Lipschitz (Flipsters co-founder).
According to StartupSmart, the trio received a $2 million cornerstone investment from individuals and institutional investors.
