Not the kind of celebrity chef we’re used to, but legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has teamed up with Menulog and some Aussie venues to bring you his recipes to order.

Snoop made his name as part of Death Row Records’ legendary early ’90s line-up, which also featured a post-NWA Dr Dre and Tupac, but his career has taken some unexpected turns over the years.

Probably the most recent and most unexpected of all was his transition to cookbook author after his book From Crook to Cook was published in 2018. It wasn’t his first nor only foray into the culinary arts however, having previously teamed up with Martha Stewart for cooking TV show Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. 

If you’re having trouble imagining what kinds of recipes a man like Snoop would include in a book, it features 50 comfort-food recipes like fried chicken and mac ‘n’ cheese, as well as some upmarket options like filet mignon and lobster thermidor.

Now, at a time when the food delivery market is in popular demand, delivery service Menulog has teamed up with Snoop as well as venues like Milky Lane (Sydney, Brisbane); Down N’ Out (Sydney); Meet Patty (Melbourne); Chimek (Perth); and Nordburger (Adelaide) to bring Aussies a range of these treats (including his Rolls Royce PB-Chocolate Chip Cookies).

The collab follows Snoop’s reworking of the “did somebody say Menulog?” jingle, which launched on June 21.

“People said it could never be done – a Menulog track that you can get down to,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement.

“The original was a great track but it’s had its run, it needed to upgrade. That’s why they brought me in, to put some spice on it.”
