It’s almost time to get your entries in for the 29th Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, held in Melbourne this September.

Entries to the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition open on July 1 2018. The competition will run from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 September 2018 at Fine Food Australia. Organisers will be receiving all hand deliveries on the Monday and couriered entries (from anywhere in Australia) from the Tuesday to Thursday.

All 2017 categories return in 2018 and include Plain Meat Pie (Mince, Chunky and Mince Chunky Combo); Gourmet Pie: Red Meat, Poultry, Game, Vegetarian, Seafood, Gluten-Free, Apple, Brekkie Pie; and Plain and Gourmet Sausage Roll.

The John Ross Innovation award and Tom Lindsay Pepper Steak award, as well as the Footy Pie will also be judged during the competition.

Also, this year, gluten-free sausage rolls will be added to the Gluten-Free category and the competition promises to announce another new category soon.

If you’re a first-time entrant, you can enter in any two categories and get a third category for free.
