The Queensland Baking Show was held on July 10 at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse, with Baking Association of Australia (BAA) judges working overtime to evaluate entries from across the state.
Tony Robinson from Ferny Hills Bakery took home the Perpetual Trophy, which was presented by Fermex Distributors manager Myles Morris. The Champion Cake and Pastry award was won by Brett Glancy from the Brisbane Exhibition Centre.
BAA executive officer Tony Smith congratulated all entrants on their strong display of skill and dedication, particularly the father-and-son team from Westbrook on the Rise Bakery in Toowoomba.
“The biggest haul on the day came from the Stewart family. Brendon and Mitchell Stewart took out top gong for Most Successful Bread Exhibitor and Most Successful Pastry Exhibitor, both claiming $500 each,” Tony said.
