Held in the Barossa Valley, this year’s South Australian Baking Show was well supported, with entries coming as far as Mt Gambier.
Several new categories were added to this year’s competition, including a sweet yeast section, with Baking Association of Australia judges noting competition among the doughnuts and finger buns was particularly strong.
Home Grain Bakery from Aldinga took home the iced doughnut trophy, while champion cake and pastry was awarded to The Original Food Company, a pies and pastries bakery from Mt Barker.
The South Australian Perpetual Trophy for the most successful exhibitor went to Glenelg’s seasoned competitors, Orange Spot Bakery.
