More Than Just A Packaging Show

Thousands of exhibitors from baked goods industries are expected to visit Düsseldorf, Germany, for one of the biggest international trade fairs for the packaging and related processing sectors.

Occupying about 174,000sq m of exhibition space, Interpack is expecting to draw crowds from more than 60 countries, including many manufacturers of machine parts, components and accessories associated with food businesses.

The event is being marketed as an ideal opportunity for food owners and operators, as well as equipment manufacturers and suppliers to forge new contacts, innovate and trade with local partners.

“This is where tailor-made solutions and concepts for the entire supply chain are presented,” a representative from the company told Australian Baking Business

“This includes processes and machinery and services for confectionery and bakery.”

On May 7, one day before Interpak opens its doors, the Save Food Congress will commence, directed at both non-profit organisations and industry. The congress will highlight the issue of global food loss, and explore what professionals employed in food service can do to reduce waste. The Save Food initiative is a co-operative initiative between the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and Messe Düsseldorf.

Interpack will be held from May 8-14, 2014, at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds, Düsseldorf, Germany.
