The Australian Society of Baking (ASB) will look at ways to add value to business at its upcoming mid-year conference.
The event will be held May 2 at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games precinct at Homebush Bay, Nerw South Wales.
According to ASB vice chair Fee Lee, bakeries must find new ways to add value to their product range.
“Most businesses are in a very competitive environment,” Fee said.
“We have to ensure whatever we do is over an above what the customers expectations are.”
Confirmed speakers tackling the theme of ‘adding value to business’ include a presentation on new technical advances in equipment from Mackies, bakery cleaning compliance with Peter Maibom of EcoWise and a report on this year’s Europain baking expo.
The conference will offer members and guests the opportunity to further network with fellow industry members at an informal cocktail event to be held that evening.
Conference delegates can spend a ‘day in the marketplace’ on the ASB’s increasingly popular industry tour, held the day prior to the conference.
The ASB’s national conference is planned for October 16 and 17 on the Gold Coast. This year’s event includes an industry tour on the 16th and the ASB Chairman’s Dinner and Scholarship Awards night on the 17th.
