Come October 30 bakers from across Tasmania will gather to battle it out at the Baking Association of Australia’s Tasmania Baking Show.

Set to be held at The Boat House Function Centre in Invernay, the competition will include 35 categories – including one exclusively for apprentices – as well as Australia’s Best Fruit Mince Pie. Once again the Ian Freeburgh Memorial Trophy will be held, with entrants required to submit 680g white square, 680g wholemeal Hi Top, and 680g fruit loaf upright.

In 2024 Spreyton Bakery took home the Champion Loaf of the Show – David Cripps Trophy, while the Champion Pie of the Show award was taken out by Liam Dyke from St Leonards Milk Bar Bakery. Liam also took home the Champion Cake/Pastry of the Show award.

Entries are now open for the competition. More information and entry forms can be found on the Baking Association of Australia website.
