Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese are set to take over judging The Great Australian Bake Off from Maggie Beer and Matt Moran in the new 2023 season. Rounding out the entirely new cast, comedian Cal Wilson and YouTuber Natalie Tran are taking over as hosts of the classic family reality show.
In 2013, buoyed by the success of the same format in the UK, BBC Australia and New Zealand decided to bring the Great Australian Bake Off to life. Airing on Foxtel, the Australian version of this much-beloved British show has lived up to the hype of its older sibling.
The past five seasons of the show have been headed by Maggie Beer and Matt Moran as judges and Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle as hosts.
However, for the 2023 season, Foxtel has announced that The Great Australian Bake Off will have a completely new cast, the hosts and judges are all being replaced.
The new cast includes international culinary expert Rachel Khoo and world-renowned pastry chef Darren Purchese as the judges and media personality and comedian Cal Wilson and popular Aussie YouTuber Natalie Tran as the hosts.
“It is a huge responsibility and I am humbled to have been chosen,” wrote Darren Purchese on Instagram.
We look forward to the new season of The Great Australian Bake Off and can’t wait till it airs in 2023!

Very strange they changed the whole cast and delay the broadcasting. I really enjoy watch it and I am a bit disappointed that we are in March and still no Bake Off Australia 🙊

Also very disappointing that we cannot have Australian chefs and hosts. Cal is great but a Kiwi the other two belong in the UK at least there is Natalie ……….. very poor form

Disappointing that overseas judges took over.
Always hear buy Australian and keep Australia going. Non Australian judges have taken over the show this year. Rachel Khoo is laughing at the amount of money that will be taken out of Australia when she leaves. It’s a shame.
