From Australia to Arizona: The Meat Pie Spreads Its Wings

The Great Australian Bakery is preparing open its doors in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, a history-laden town in Arizona, USA.

Armed with chunky steak pies, cheese and bacon sausage rolls, vanilla slices and lamingtons, Australian-born owner Laurence Lindhal said the shop will be a little slice of home.

“During one visit back to Australia I met a baker named Daniel Rose, who owned a business called Ettalong Beachside Pie Shop that has some of the best Aussie pies, pasties and sausage rolls in the country. We bonded over the idea of sharing our culture and love of Australian food overseas, and soon I realised what my next move would be,” Laurence said.

To ensure an authentic culinary experience, customers will be able to wash down their custard tarts and beef pies with Australian blends of coffee, along with iconic Aussie soft drinks.
