Emporium conquers Gold Coast

The Pastry Emporium on Queensland’s Gold Coast opened a second store in Mermaid Waters in October. Known for its petit gateaux and incredible doughnuts, along with savoury offerings and whole cakes, The Pastry Emporium has earned itself a reputation as the place to go for serious pastry on the coast.

Owner and pastry chef Adrian Grazioli opened the first store in Bundall in 2014 after starting out making macarons in his apartment.

“The Gold Coast was lacking in pastry shops so I decided to make my own,” Adrian said. “My vision was to create my own little world of pastry and cakes. Something like you see in Melbourne or Sydney.”

Adrian expects Mermaid Waters to get a lot more foot traffic compared to Bundall, where he has to work a lot harder to get people in store.

Pastries and cakes will still be cooked and prepared at the Bundall store, with Mermaid Waters receiving stock fresh from Bundall every day.
