It’s that time of year again when votes open for delicious.100, a comprehensive guide to the nation’s best eats.

Unsurprisingly, a number of baked goods have made the list, from Danishes to pies and sweet buns.

One of the items that topped the list was the mango Danish from Brisbane-based bakery, Idle. The Danish, which has been a bestseller since the bakery re-opened it’s doors in 2025, consists of a crunchy croissant pastry case that is then filled with custard and mango chunks that have been enhanced with elderflower syrup and lime. Then the whole thing is topped with a dollop of fresh cream.

Idle head chef Michelle Thomas told The Courier Mail that when creating the Danish they really wanted to celebrate the best of Queensland’s summer produce.

“…and bring that colour and freshness to our guests,” she said.

“This is a seasonal special that will the menu as mango season comes to an end.

“It is really popular and actually is a Danish that we have carried on from our days as Agnes Bakery.”
