Once again in 2024, the month of August will see cafes, bakeries, restaurants and pubs across the Victorian city of Ballarat battle it out for the title of Ballarat’s Best Pie.
The event, which is run by Visit Ballarat, will see 28 pies – sweet and savoury – to try across the month.
Last year’s Ballarat’s Best Pie competition grand prize winner, Flying Chillies, have announced they’ll be back and are on a mission to claim the prize a second time with their Mum’s curry laksa pie.
On August 3, culinary journalist and MasterChef host Sofia Levin will host the awards ceremony with judges and pie connoisseurs Tim Bone (MasterChef Australia) and food writer Richard Cornish.
