Don’t miss the upcoming Australian Society of Baking (ASB) National Conference on October 30, 2019, along with the Australian Baking Industry National Scholarship Awards and Chairman Dinner on the evening of October 31.
Held at Rydges South Bank in Brisbane, the conference provides a valuable learning opportunity for those involved in the baking industry, while the Australian Baking Industry National Scholarship Awards offers bakers and pastry chefs the chance to have their say in what they know and what they think about the Australian baking industry. The competition is open to anyone currently employed in a retail, manufacturing or educational role within the Australian baking industry.
The awards form two scholarship categories:
The Arthur E Denison Trophy is designed for individuals aged 25 years and over. Entrants are required to research and submit a written paper on one of four selected industry topics as nominated in their entry kit.
The Sydney J Packham (OAM) Baking Industry Medal is designed for the 18 to 24 year age group. These contestants are required to research and answer a series of 16 questions covering a broad cross section of baking industry products and practices. Each entrant’s answers are then sent to a panel of independent judges for assessment.
The contestants with the highest scoring papers in both categories will be presented their awards and prizes at a gala dinner presented by The Australian Society of Baking, in conjunction with event partner EOI.
There are up to eight regional and two overseas scholarship trips to be won. Enter online at australiansocietyofbaking.com.au
