AP Bakery opens new space in Potts Point

AP Bakery has opened it newest outpost, AP Point

If you head to the ritzy Sydney suburb of Potts Point, be prepared to give your tastebuds a treat, thanks to AP Bakery’s newest outpost.

The newly opened AP Point joins the bakery’s retail spaces that are located around Sydney. There’s Appizza, AP House and AP Supply in Surry Hills, AP Quay near the harbour, AP Town in Newtown and also AP Bread & Wine in Darlinghurst.

AP Point is geared towards the takeaway crowd, with coffee on-the-go served alongside pastries, viennoiserie, pies and cream puffs. Then there’s the sandwiched and sesame-crusted bagels that the bakery has built its name on.

AP Point is located in the space previously home to Small’s Deli, which had become immensely popular thanks to its sandwiches – and counted people like Nigella Lawson among its fans.

Its closure came as a shock when it was announced in September, after almost six years in business.

The move was announced on Small’s Deli Instagram, noting it was time for a “little (long) break”.

“It is time Friends. If you’ve loved what we’ve done over the last 6 years, please come see us at the deli (or via uber still) you’ve got until Father’s Day September 7th to squeeze a last Smalls deli sandwich in your belly,” the post said.

“Are we opening somewhere else? No, for now we’re taking a little (long) break with our family.”
